OrbitPDF was built out of frustration with online PDF utilities that demand file uploads, personal sign-ups, and hidden fees just to do basic document work.

The problem with most PDF websites

Every week, millions of people search for simple tools: merge two contracts, split a scan, compress an invoice, or sign a tax form. Most web tools look free at first glance, but behind the scenes, they require you to upload your sensitive records to remote servers you know nothing about.

Worse, once your file is uploaded, many services hit you with forced email registrations, paywalls on the download button, or aggressive subscription upsells. For legal documents, medical forms, business plans, and financial statements, that model is unacceptable.

How OrbitPDF works differently

OrbitPDF runs on a completely different architecture. We use modern WebAssembly, native browser APIs, and dedicated in-memory Web Workers so that every single calculation, page rearrangement, compression, and conversion happens right on your device.

When you drop a file into OrbitPDF:

  • Your file is loaded directly into your browser's local memory sandbox.
  • No bytes are uploaded to remote file servers or cloud storage queues.
  • Once processed, the file is saved back to your computer directly from local memory.
  • When you close the tab or clear your workspace, the memory is instantly released.
